Town founders Harry and Frank Woods built the Gold Coin Club for their employees' recreation, supposedly patterning the interior of their grandiose hall after the New York Athletic Club. The Colonial Revival building has Ionic columns supporting a second-story porch under a pediment and a decorative frieze. Inside, the club originally contained a ballroom, gymnasium, bowling alleys, pool room, dining rooms, and a library. After the 1903–1904 labor strike closed the Gold Coin, it was used as a hospital and later as a private residence. Currently used for apartments, it stands across
