The 11-story Fleming Building is one of Burnham and Company's seemingly stock designs for an office and banking skyscraper. Similar examples were built by this firm all across the country. Direct historic references were usually kept to a minimum in designs such as this. What stylistic comments are made in proportions and details are mildly Beaux-Arts Classical. The Fleming Building was one of the earliest steel-frame structures to be built within the state.
