All that really remains of the original turn-of-the-century building is its external shell. As with many remodelings of the 1970s and 1980s, the new windows of this building have been brought out to the surface of the adjacent masonry, so that the old and new read as a paper-thin skin. The original exterior design was Beaux-Arts Classical, with the second through third floors treated as a large arcade. There is a thin cornice above the keystone of these large arches, and above are two additional floors articulated by large Chicago windows. The interior has been completely transformed and now reads as a modernist design of the 1980s.
