It is the square three-story corner tower that helps to set this house far above the usual combination of Italianate/French Second Empire designs created in the years after the Civil War. The cornice of the small tower is broken in its center by a small curved wall dormer; above this on all four sides of the tiny mansard roof are narrow overscaled dormer windows. A Colonial Revival porch with a rounded end has been added to the house (c. 1900).
