This is a sophisticated, refined brick Italianate Villa design, due in part to later remodelings that added a rich array of details. The building's form is out of the ordinary, consisting of two gable-roofed wings projecting forward, with the entrance between them. Behind the entrance and rising three floors is the hip-roofed tower. The entrance, which is new, has two narrow Tuscan columns supporting a classical entablature. The roof edges have been cut back, again most likely due to a twentieth-century remodeling. All of the changes, which have to a marked degree “Colonialized” the house, have been carried out with taste and understanding.
