The Sheppard house is a Queen Anne dwelling held in place by a horizontal Colonial Revival veranda that winds its way across the front of the house. The dominant porch with its splayed base covered in narrow clapboard, small Tuscan columns, wide entablature, and balustraded railing on top would seem to be a later addition.
