This medieval revival brick church, with both pointed and Tudor arches, occupies Starkville’s highest ground, making for dramatic views of it from the east over landscaped terracing. Its form, with an entrance porch and a twin-pylon bell tower, was derived (like the smaller version at 400 W. Main Street in Okolona) from the now-demolished St. Columb’s Chapel (1892) in Jackson. The nave has handsome false hammer beams, king post wooden trusses, and stained glass, with the south windows donated by Vicksburg philanthropist Fannie Willis Johnson (see YB24).
